Medical Library Resources That Will Make Your Life Easier


You are invited to this free workshop presented by the Ruth Lilly Medical Library. This is a great opportunity to both enhance your research skills and network with others in the School of Medicine working on similar projects. 


The workshop has been designed primarily for:

  • Research Assistants
  • Administrative Assistants
  • Education Coordinators
  • Research Coordinators
  • Program Coordinators/Managers
  • Anyone who does online research or manages citations or CVs for publications, grants, etc.


The workshop will include overviews of the following topics:

  • Efficiently locating the most authoritative information
  • Best practices for locating the full text of articles
  • Overview of library online databases, ebooks and other resources
  • Literature searching basics
  • Advanced author searching basics
  • Citation managers (what are they and how they can be useful)
  • CV contents and formats, IUSM, NIH Biosketches, SciENcv, etc.
  • Working with publishing  or grant application bibliographies
  • Quality metrics for faculty, e.g. journal impact factors
  • Open Access compliance & PMCID searching support
  • Working with Librarians/Library Liaisons & other library services
