Ruth Lilly Medical Library Historical and Biographical Databases
- 19th-20th Century Indiana Physicians Biographical Database
- Our first database, 19th Century Indiana Physicians, has been visited 750,000 times since its beginning. It was started with a grant from the Indiana Humanities Council. This year, 2 library interns have contributed to the entry of 20th Century Indiana physicians. We hope to be able to add to this database over time.
- Union Civil War Physicians
- The Union Civil War Surgeons was made possible because of the multitude of sources available on the web. Google Books, Ancestry.com, Footnote (Now Fold3.com), and the efforts of many of genealogists, digitizing projects, and historians have contributed to the formation of this database. The complete database will include regimental, US army surgeons, contract or additional assistant surgeons, nurses and surgeons employed by the United States Sanitary Commission and United States Christian Committee.
Database is in transition and until its complete please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com for any information inquiry.
